The Detroit Lakes Public School Board members serve the district and the public. The Board is made up of six district residents. A General Election shall be held on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. At the General Election, three members will be elected to the School Board for a term of four (4) years.

If your student requires busing for the 2026-2027 school year, please make sure you register for transportation as soon as possible. This needs to be done annually, even if you were registered last year.

Did you know DLPS proudly participates in the "Farm to School" partnership with local farmers? Our kitchens source from Barnesville, Dent, Frazee, McIntosh, and right here in Detroit Lakes.
Some of the delicious items include maple syrup, beef, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, cantaloupe, and watermelon.

The Detroit Lakes Public Library is thrilled to launch a program offered through a partnership between Lake Agassiz Regional Library and Detroit Lakes Public Schools. This student card program makes it easy for students to obtain a library card and allows them to access library resources with their student ID number.
