School Board Reports and Schedules
School Board members are elected to serve the district and public. It also sets policy for the school district. The School Board is made up of six district residents. Term expirations are staggered to ensure that the Board has experienced members serving at any given time.
School Board Meetings
Regular meetings of the board are typically held the fourth Monday of each month. All meetings are open to the public.
Individuals wishing to present matters of concern to the School Board should make a written request to the Superintendent of Schools at least seven days prior to a scheduled board meeting. Detroit Lakes Policy - 206
To assist in the process of community communication and transparency, school board meeting agendas and information are posted on-line through the district website. The BoardBook program is being used for communication at the board level.
