The Permanent School Fund rules are written into the Minnesota State Constitution so updating the funding distribution rules requires approval from voters statewide. No tax hikes and every school benefits!

The Detroit Lakes Public School Board members serve the district and the public. The Board is made up of six district residents. A General Election shall be held on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026. At the General Election, three members will be elected to the School Board for a term of four (4) years.

Drumstick painting was an exciting way for preschoolers at Lincoln Little Lakers Extended Care to explore the intersection of art and music. This activity included creativity, development of key motor skills, sensory exploration, appreciation for rhythm self-expression, and a deeper connection between sound and art.
