Special School Board Meeting

Tuesday, September 6, 2005 – 5:30 P.M.

School Administration Center

 

The Special Meeting of the Board of Education held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, was called to order at 5:31 P.M. by Board Chair Gifford.  Members present:  Wimmer, Gifford, Sinclair, Porter, and Solie.  Members absent:  Seaworth.

 

Motion by Porter, seconded by Wimmer, to approve the following personnel items as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

Amended Contract:

Kathryn Kallis, transfer from Rossman Elementary to Middle School Special Education Teaching Assistant, at the rate of $11.57 per hour, working from 2.4 to 5.4 hours per day, effective September 6, 2005.

Heidi Roy, High School Special Education Teaching Assistant, at the rate of $10.86 per hour, increasing her schedule working 5.9 hours per day, 4 to 5 days per week, effective September 6, 2005.

Sandy Burd, High School English Instructor, to increase her contract from 3/7ths to 4/7ths time at the rate of BA+15, Step 8, or a total prorated contract amount of $20,083.44, effective August 31, 2005.

Laurie Boeshans, Middle School Counselor, add 10 days extended employment at the rate of $193.44 per day, or a total additional $1,934.40, effective August 30, 2005.

Pam Gulseth, transfer from Callaway to Roosevelt Elementary Lead Server to Server, at the rate of $10.00 per hour, increasing from 2.0 to 2.75 hours per day, effective September 6, 2005.

Pam Gulseth, transfer from Callaway to Roosevelt Elementary Lead Breakfast Server to Breakfast Server, at the rate of $10.00 per hour, working 2 hours per day, effective September 6, 2005.

Jennifer Beck, High School Library Assistant, at the rate of $11.57 per hour, to increase the number of hours/days per year from (1003 hours/year) 170 days to (1073.8 hours/year) 182 days, effective August 29, 2005.

Julie Hokanson, Roosevelt Elementary Title I Teaching Assistant, at the rate of $10.86 per hour, working 3.65 hours per day, to revise number of days from 149 to 158 (tentative), effective August 30, 2005.

 

Superintendent Lowell Niklaus reviewed September 6, 2005, Opening Day Enrollment Counts.  Overall enrollments have remained steady and have been very close to budget predictions.  The class sizes are well balanced noting a 23.42 district class size average for K-5.   Other discussions included general enrollment information and Chairman Gifford thanking administration and staff for providing a smooth transition for former Callaway Elementary students.  (EXHIBIT)
